Hourglasses are way cooler than stopwatches. They look great, the falling sand is quite an appealing sight and its fun to flip them around.

They can't be programmed though. This one takes 1 hour to empty the sand from the top compartment. The glass is high quality from Borosil, wood is Rose wood and the rods are made of brass. The sand is also quite fine and uniform so as a timer, it is quite accurate.

Hourglasses are cool but you may want to check out a sandscape as well.
